No matter where you hunt or fish there is one thing that holds true; you have to know the game laws. Did I hear someone say "not if I have a guide?" While I do agree that a guide should know the rules backward and forward you are still responsible when you pull the trigger. A good outdoorsman or woman should know the rules that effect their adventure.

There are things to be learned from game and fish regulations other than the law. If you watch the number of permits for an area over time you can see how the population is doing. This can tell you how your favorite spot made it through the year. If the amount of permits has fallen drastically you might want to stay out of it this year.

Besides, it is fun to go through the regulations and dream about that hunt of a life time. Do you want to go after Deer and Elk out West? Or would you rather dream about the huge herds of animals in Africa? Heck, dreams are cheap, why not do both! Perhaps your spouse has put the proverbial foot down, "We will go on a vacation together this year!" Where ever it is you're going I bet there will be hunting or fishing somewhere near by.
